Dr. Meta Dobnikar is the Head of Mineral resources and geochemistry department at Geological Survey of Slovenia since September 2020. Previously she worked at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, where she was the head of the Science unit for five years and the head of the Higher education unit for four years. She holds a PhD in Geology and started her research and academic career at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of natural Sciences and Engineering, where she worked for twenty years, working mostly in mineralogy, crystallography and X-ray powder diffraction. In this period she also held the position of the head of Mineralogy and economic geology Chair and she was the Head of geology department as well.
