Biography
Katharina Gugerell is appointed as tenure track professor ‘Sustainable Land-Use’ at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna. She is a graduated agricultural engineer and holds PhD and Venia Docendi in Landscape Planning. Her research is embedded in the conceptual narrative of sustainability transitions, covering topics such as landscape governance, sustainable land-use, governance of protected areas, policy studies, foresight methods and transdisciplinarity. She was involved in several projects that facilitated intensive science-society collaborations and knowledge co-creation approaches, such as living labs, community of practice, visioning-and scenario planning. Based on her comprehensive research experience she served on the ExpertCommittee on Innovation and Impact Delivery (ECIID) of the SUGI Food-Water-Energy Nexus (JPI Urban Europe/BelmontForum). Katharina has solid experience in the implementation and management of international research projects (e.g., Biodiversa+, EarthSystemSciences, JPI Urban Europe) in PI-positions.
